What is my right to choose?

    When you get into an accident, an insurance company may want you to get your vehicle repaired at the shop of their choice. This is not correct. Per Texas law, you may get your vehicle repaired wherever you choose.

 

   Chris' Collison Center provides collison repair for all insurance companies. If Chris' Collison Center is not referred to you by your insurance company, you can inform them you want to bring your car to be repaired at Chris' Collison Center, which is your choice.  If the insurance company tries to tell you their place can warranty the work, at Chris' Collison Center we warranty our work no different than the insurance company or any other shop in town. If they refuse your choice, take the person's name, let us know, and we'll assist them in understanding your right to choose.

 

 Many times, insurance companies have shops on a "Direct Repair Program," or a DRP.  The reason for this is that they have been preapproved by the insurance company, and there is no need for the shop to report to the appraiser to get supplement checks for any extra repair done. The shop simply repairs your vehicle, you pay your deductible, if applicable, and they directly bill the insurance. If Chris' Collison Center is not on your insurance company's DRP, you may request from your insurance company to add us on their lists of shops, it is your right.
